The pond’s algae really started to bloom, so I built a new filter and updated the water fall. The filter is based on the design from Skippy’s pond pages. My brother. Bill, is also building a much larger pond and is using the same design, only on a larger scale. His is 150 gallons where mine is maybe 10 gallons. I am planning on getting some large slate to place around the sides of the pond to hide the black liner and make it look more natural. It is starting to look nice. I post more pictures of the pond after the algae is under control.

I ended up draining the pond and refilling it due to the large number of tadpoles. A few weeks after that I bought 7 feeder gold fish and three plants for the pond.

I started building a pond in my backyard (10/25/2006).
