Cree File Mover

This program moves files from one network location to another based on last write time of the file. Due to the large number of text files generated daily, this application keeps the primary folder small, with older files available if needed. This utility application was written in VB.NET 2008.

Wafer Sorter UI Application

This program allows the user to run a wafer sorter. The application interfaces with host software using SECS/GEM communication. I used VB.NET 2008 to create the code which accesses information from a SQL Server 2005 database through the use of stored procedures.

Wafer Disposition Check Application

One of my newest programs is the Wafer Check application that allows Cree operators to validate whether a wafer is ready for disposition. I used VB.NET to create the code which accesses information from a SQL Server 2005 database through the use of stored procedures. The application updates automatically utilizing Microsoft's click-once technology; thus every code change is distributed to all systems automatically. This technique makes rolling out version updates a breeze.

CreeMES

CreeMES is Cree's WIP tracking system utilized throughout the factories in Durham, NC and Malaysia. CreeMES is written in VB.NET 2005 and connects to multiple SQL Server 2005 databases. This new MES was a total redesign of our old VB 6 MES, using object-oriented design. This project took a over a year and a half to complete. I was the lead developer on this three-person team and was responsible for all aspects of the code development. To facilitate ease of use for all operators, we maintained the original user interface while completely rewriting the underlying code. The user interface was not changed to allow for minimal user training and a faster rollout.

CreeNet

CreeNet is Cree's intranet web site. I designed and built this intranet web site to allow for easy access to critical manufacturing reports. The site has grown to include web applications, human resource information, email access, phone number access and many departmental sites. The original web site was built using classic ASP, but has grown to include ASP.NET applications as well as hosted applications such as Kronos (time and attendance portal). I was the sole developer and designer, and continue to oversee all changes.

Application Matrix

I wrote the Application Matrix in ASP and it accesses a SQL database through the use of stored procedures. The application matrix is a web-based system, which allows the IT Helpdesk to quickly find information about software installed at Cree. Cree has over thirty employees that can write and deploy software; this application allows the Helpdesk to quickly identify the developer when a user has an issue with a Cree application. The information returned from a search includes the primary code contact, key process person, notes, install instructions, common name, department used in, run location, etc. This application was one of my first ASP applications and is one of the most used programs today.
